The “Strategies in Light Europe” forum of Milan brings together the most prominent European LED specialists. At the conference, the lighting designer Duilio Passariello described the ground breaking venture of the lighting project at the 7 Liffey River bridges in Dublin. The project involved LED lit balustrades and was installed in 1999. Over 800m of light bars with amber LEDs were installed in this ambitious project. The install itself was often difficult conditions and spanned over 3 months. It was a pioneering project, both in its specification and installation, where LED was used for a lighting application of such great magnitude. Duilio Passariello has recently revisited the site and verified that the installation is still 100% working, despite the incessant attacks from weeds, ivy and the inclement Irish weather! During the review, Passariello expressed his gratitude to LEC for their commitment to this project and technical expertise. |
