A constellation of LED markers

Les Ulis (France)Enhancement

As part of the renovation of Les Ulis town centre, a lighting artwork by Yann Kersalé transforms the esplanade of the Boris Vian cultural centre into a poetic, sensory space. Since late 2017, a constellation of light comes alive each evening, accompanying residents in their daily lives and revealing the contours of the public realm.

Conceived as a form of nocturnal writing on an urban scale, this constellation punctuates streets, pathways, and public facilities with soft, uniform light, creating a new atmosphere conducive to contemplation and strolling.

A constellation of LED markers

To bring this artistic work to life, LEC supplied:

  • 255 BOURGOGNE – 1750 markers, flush-mounted at ground level, with a sober design and opalescent finish.
  • 193 custom markers, designed with bespoke collars for perfect integration into the concrete slabs.

All markers emit a perfectly uniform neutral white light, in full respect of Yann Kersalé’s artistic intent.

A sensitive urban lighting scheme, balancing art and technology in the service of a reimagined town centre.
