Lighting of the pontoons of the Vieux-Port of Marseille

Marseille (France)Road & Mobility

To enhance the pontoons of the Vieux-Port of Marseille, lighting artist Yann Kersalé designed a subtle, grazing, bi-colour lighting scheme that distinguishes the pontoons in white and the boats in blue, playing with reflections and the movement of the water.

After extensive research and testing, the recessed PALAIS ROYAL – 1843 marker with C2 optic was selected, perfectly suited to this grazing effect. Two hundred bi-colour white–blue markers were manufactured in a very short timeframe to meet the project’s urgent schedule.

This discreet lighting system integrates seamlessly with the port’s aesthetic while improving pathway legibility and user safety.
