Pathway to the Taj Mahal

Agra (India)Safety

To enhance the approach to the Taj Mahal, one of the world’s most iconic monuments, more than 2.5 kilometres of pathway have been illuminated using 700 CHATEAUNEUF – 1570 projectors, integrated into stone bollards just 0.5 metres above ground level.

The main technical challenge was to effectively light a 7.5-metre-wide roadway with equal spacing between each bollard, without disturbing the surrounding vegetation or dazzling visitors.
LEC’s engineering department designed a bespoke solution featuring projectors with 100×20° optics on inclined LEDs and increased luminous output, ensuring both visual comfort and efficiency.

This discreet, rhythmic path of light guides visitors toward the marble jewel, described by Archohm as “a diamond polished by the moon.”
A unique atmosphere that highlights grandeur without betraying the poetry of the place.
