Spotlight on Africa’s Largest Wooden Footbridge
In Gabon, where the public lighting network includes nearly 28,500 connected light points as well as around 15,000 solar streetlights, GROUPE RAGNI has established itself as a leading partner in autonomous lighting, thanks to solutions developed by NOVEA ÉNERGIES. With more than 12,000 streetlights installed across the country and equipment operating maintenance-free since 2017, the Group demonstrates the long-term robustness and reliability of its solutions.
This expertise is now supporting the development of the Baie des Rois in Libreville, a vast urban project launched in 2021 by the FMCT to modernize and structure the waterfront around spaces dedicated to tourism, leisure, and economic activities. To meet the site’s diverse uses, the GROUPE RAGNI deployed a multi-brand approach tailored to the project’s architectural and urban challenges.
Among the flagship achievements, LEC designed 30 custom floodlights for Africa’s largest wooden footbridge over the sea—spanning 70 meters in length—with four additional units to come in order to optimize lighting uniformity. The project also includes the upcoming delivery of 25 LUMINY 4 and 13 LIMA units scheduled for June 2026. Together, they contribute to the architectural enhancement of the footbridge and its pedestrian arch, which have become powerful symbols of the Baie des Rois.
Through this partnership, the group confirms its ability to provide solutions adapted to local realities and budgetary constraints, combining equipment quality with on-the-ground support. It is a collaboration that paves the way for future large-scale projects serving Gabon’s development.
