Galeries Lafayette
The new façade of the Marseille Bourse shopping centre embodies architectural boldness by Moatti & Rivière: a spectacular glazed ribbon, like a Mediterranean wave, wraps around the Galeries Lafayette.
Three undulating fins integrate the exterior lighting systems designed by lighting agency 8’18’’.
A total of 149 custom linear luminaires, equipped with CLEM – 5650 units, were manufactured and installed at the inner base of the lower fin, subtly highlighting the structure and reinforcing the effect of transparency.
The project received one of the 2015 Versailles Awards for Commercial Architecture, recognising the architectural and lighting quality of this landmark development in Marseille’s city centre.
