The existing lighting, which had aged over time, exhibited significant disparities in terms of light intensity, treatment, and color temperature. Designed from the bottom up, it no longer complied with regulations regarding the night sky.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"row\"><div class=\"col-12 col-xl-10 offset-xl-1 paragraph\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To restore a harmonious overall appearance, Agence ON developed an approach based on two complementary principles: selective highlighting of notable architectural elements and warm 2700 K lighting directed from top to bottom.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"row\"><div class=\"col-12 col-xl-10 offset-xl-1 paragraph\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>\u201cThe project is based on a understated and targeted approach, highlighting only the specific architectural details of each facade to reveal its identity. \u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"row\"><div class=\"col-12 col-xl-10 offset-xl-1 paragraph\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This downward-facing lighting also helps limit light pollution toward the sky and preserve darkness.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"block-hero-block_c0b6e7e28b274688c7e1e18d82fc93ae\" class=\"container-fluid txt_media_part  block-hero\">\n    <div class=\"row\">\n        <div class=\"col-12 col-lg-6 col-xl-6 px-0 media order-1 order-lg-2\">\n            <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.lec.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/34_4020_4040_5633_5655_5681_LUMINY2_4_ARCHES_LIGNON_LIMA_Place_de_la_Comedie_Montpellier_\u00a9Anthony_BRZESKI-14.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"img-fluid\">        <\/div>\n        <div class=\"col-12 col-lg-6 col-xl-6 col-xxl-5 px-xl-5 pt-5 pt-lg-0 txt order-2 order-lg-1 offset-xxl-1 d-flex align-items-center\">\n            <div class=\"txt_part px-2 px-xl-5\">\n            <div class=\"content\"><h2>The Challenges of a Historic Site<\/h2>\n<p>Carrying out work on one of Montpellier\u2019s most iconic squares meant dealing with particularly stringent heritage constraints.<\/p>\n<p>All lighting installations and effects were therefore approved by the<a href=\"https:\/\/www.anabf.org\/faire-decouvrir\/les-abf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> Architectes des B\u00e2timents de France (ABF),<\/a> with constant attention paid to ensuring the equipment blended in almost imperceptibly and to preserving the historic facades.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cThe guiding principles were the discretion of the fixtures, both day and night, and respect for the facades to prevent any damage.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>To meet these requirements, tests were conducted directly on-site to precisely determine the positioning of each fixture. The lighting design principles ensure maximum respect for the night sky and the nighttime environment, as well as for the surrounding neighborhood.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Lighting directed from top to bottom creates natural shadows reminiscent of those produced by sunlight.<\/p>\n<p>Each floodlight and light strip has also been equipped with visors to improve visual comfort for users.
