A sober and powerful lighting scheme

Toulouse (France)Enhancement

As part of its Lighting Master Plan launched in 2015, the City of Toulouse adopted a clear guiding principle:

“Doing better with less!”
A commitment to energy efficiency, without compromising the enhancement of heritage.

A powerful symbol of the city and listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Hôtel-Dieu Saint-Jacques now benefits from an elegant, restrained lighting scheme. A continuous wash of light across the entire façade reveals the architecture as a whole, with softness and coherence.

LED technology, chosen for its efficiency and durability, is precisely controlled to adjust light levels, optimise energy consumption, and preserve the nighttime atmosphere along the Garonne riverbanks.

A demonstration that lighting can successfully combine heritage, performance, and energy efficiency in the service of tomorrow’s cities.
