Chapel of Saint-Marc High School

Lyon (France)Enhancement

Built from 1865 and opened to the public in 1867, the chapel of Saint-Marc High School impresses with its scale: 46 metres long, 20 metres wide, and 22 metres high. Its three-nave architecture is bathed in natural light through 35 stained-glass windows measuring 3.5 metres each, five small rose windows, and a large 5.4-metre rose window located above the organ.

To mark the school’s 150th anniversary in October 2021, a new lighting scheme was inaugurated, enhancing the 19th-century architecture while accompanying the restoration of its listed organ.
