Lighting for History

Eckartsau (Austria)Enhancement

A former imperial and royal residence of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, Eckartsau Castle, located east of Vienna, embodies several centuries of history. Built in the Middle Ages, transformed in the 18th century and restored at the end of the 19th, this major heritage site received a new lighting setting in 2017, worthy of its prestige.

On the occasion of its designation as “Castle of the Year” in Austria, the site underwent a lighting project combining respect for heritage with contemporary LED technology. Lighting designer Gunther Ferencsin conceived a subtle and refined enhancement, highlighting exterior architectural details and selected interior elements.

LED technology in the service of heritage

To meet these requirements of precision and discretion, LEC LUMINY range projectors were selected. Their refined optics and high luminous performance reveal the castle’s volumes and ornaments with accuracy, while preserving its historic atmosphere.

An elegant, restrained realisation at the intersection of history and light.
