Mont Blanc Tunnel

Chamonix (France)Enhancement

To mark the 50th anniversary of the Mont Blanc Tunnel, celebrated in June 2015, the Mont Blanc Tunnel GEIE chose to commemorate this symbolic milestone with an artistic lighting scheme for the access platforms on both the French and Italian sides.

To enhance these entrances and exits, Agence Lumière designed a luminous atmosphere based on wave-like scenarios in blue and cool white, playing on the ideas of fluidity and passage.

The choice of LED technology was an obvious one, thanks to its reliability, energy efficiency, and seamless integration. The system is based on:

  • 62 metres of linear lighting,
  • 30 LUMINY 2 – 4020 projectors,
  • 14 LUMINY 4 – 4040 projectors.

The equipment, DMX-controlled and automatically triggered by a twilight switch, delivers a dynamic, rhythmic lighting display at nightfall.

This project crosses the Alps as a symbol: a shared light between two countries, a lasting connection celebrated through colour and technology.erse les Alpes comme un symbole : une lumière partagée entre deux pays, un lien pérenne célébré par la couleur et la technique.
